Contribution to Australian Manufacturing

Present Situation is Australia has no Manufacturing Base.

No more needs to be said than if you go to a Souvenir Shop in Sydney to buy a stuffed (apt analogy) toy Kangaroo = it is made out of Polyester (not beautiful Australian fine Merino Wool) and with a big white flag on its backside stating “Made in China”.  We don’t make steel or fabricate from steel beyond some token installations…

Accordingly to start a RE-START a manufacturing base in Australia, it needs to be done via overseas Original Equipment Suppliers (OEMs) who will provide the componentry for TORC to assemble its systems on-site and as ramp-up occurs in its own factory.

As ramp-up expands the OEMs will look to establish facilities in Australia. We will follow the Australian Auto Model in its heyday.

TORC’s 250kW to 1MW Capacity Modular Plug and Play Builds will address the Need just as Cat Diesel Gensets address Mine Site Power Capacity Needs with Banks of the 1MW Genset.

The TORC Modular nature allows a ramp-up model that is exactly like the CAT Genset model or in fact the past Australian Automotive Sector.

TORC can follow the Auto Assembly model of Australia. The Sector enjoyed a solid place in Australian Manufacturing History supporting also thousands of other supply manufacturers. Sadly it fell victim to the now well established negative and unfair aspects of WTO Globalisation. Those threats have changed with 3D printing and full AI automation of Factory running. The main cause of the demise of the Auto industry in Australia, like the USA, was due to greed of the global Auto majors in building (and investing in the next generation of efficient auto lines) in the poorest lowest cost wage countries with no tax or control of regulation barriers through corrupt Government getting their cut. Due to the above 3D/AI factors, cheap work forces are no longer a Macro Economic variable cost of efficient production. The said AI automation and 3D efficiencies change everything. For Australia it will be for the better. With high paid but up skilled workforces the the more desirable base.

Specification will of course be higher than automobiles and more like a CAT GenSet Factory. Actually, as the ORC Turbine follows advanced jet propulsion avionics, a good compare is the Rolls Royce AE2100 or Pratt & Whitney PT6A Jet engine / Turbo Fan or a better commercial unit compare by Williams International FJ33. All of these units output MW equivalent (as they are in HP) of around 1MW Capacity and range in retail price (not cost of production so with sales premium of 50%) $500,000 - $1.0 Million per unit

TORC has no development barriers with all its componentry available “off the shelve” from proven OEM majors and assemble the only issue of Pilot Plant Proof of Concept.

That will be initially in warehouses / work shops on site but with Ramp Up in our own Factory = being the first new truly Australia made integrated engine plants for almost 30 years.

TORC has commenced discussions with global majors for not only equipment supply but development commitments and export finance thereof for integrating their componentry into the TORC LDES System.

The core components are:

  • High Temperature Heat Pump [powered by Solar to charge the TORC PCM Storage Medium]

  • PCM material and modular Storage Medium

  • Organic Rankine Cycle Turbine and Heat Exchanger [Integrated into the PCM Storage Medium to discharge the heat Energy back to Electrical Power]
